A school bus collided with two pickup trucks in a chain reaction crash in Coronado on Wednesday.

The collision occurred at around 1:40 p.m. on Orange Avenue in the area of 9th and 10th streets. The bus rear-ended a white pickup, which in turn rear-ended a blue pickup.

There were more than 50 children riding on the bus at the time. Only one child was hurt, although several others were reported to have been shaken up.

The student’s injuries were minor, and they were released to their mother without being hospitalized. Their identity has not been released.

The drivers of the two pickups also appear to be uninjured.

The collision remains under investigation. It is unclear why the bus his the two trucks, but it is believed that they were stopped at the time and the bus did not appear to slam on its brakes.
