School Bus Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash

Several cars, including a school bus, collided on the 1300 block of West 66th Street in South Los Angeles last Friday.

The crash, which occurred at 6:30 a.m., has been recorded by security footage, and appears to have begun when a white car, turning left onto Normandie Avenue, narrow missed colliding with an SUV. The SUV swerved and hit a school bus, which hit two parked cars.

One of the cars was dragged along the road for 50 feet before being pushed onto the sidewalk and crushed against a utility pole. The car, belonging to local man Deon Jones, was fortunately unoccupied at the time.

The bus driver and at least one other driver involved in the crash were hospitalized. The extent of their injuries are unclear, although the injuries of the second driver are said to be non-life threatening. Several students were also aboard the bus, which was headed to Mark Twain Middle School, but all were uninjured.

The white car, which caused the original incident, left the scene and has not yet been located. Police are still searching for the driver.
