Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Car

Jeremiah Eugene Ledesma, 36, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car in Oceanside last Thursday.

Ledesma, an Oceanside native, was riding his Suzuki motorcycle south on El Camino Real, when he collided with a northbound 2006 Toyota sedan that was making a U-turn at the intersection with Basel Street.

Ledesma was thrown from his bike, and found unresponsive and not breathing by first responders. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The driver of the Toyota was uninjured, but one passenger, her husband, was hospitalized with minor injuries. The driver cooperated with authorities and was released shortly afterward. Alcohol, drugs, and speed are not believed to be factors. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
