Three Injured in Lakeside Crash on Halloween

The Lakeside Fire Department shut down Julian Avenue at Lakeview Road Monday evening, following a collision between an acting San Diego Police Department Lieutenant’s car and a Ford Ranger pickup truck.

The crash happened at approximately 7:12 p.m. Monday on the 13000 block of Julian Avenue on Halloween night, CHP Officer Steven Toth said.

The Lieutenant was driving eastbound on Julian Avenue when he was hit from the left by a Ford Ranger that had been traveling southbound on Lakeview Road and apparently failed to stop at a stop sign.

Both vehicles landed in the front yard of a home, crashing through the property’s white picket fence. The family of five who reside there were not home at the time of the crash.

All three people involved in the accident were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries, CHP officials said.
