A cyclist was killed after being struck by a garbage truck in Selma on Friday.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Floral and South Highland avenues, shortly after noon. The cyclist was riding westbound in the crosswalk when he was struck by the garbage truck as it turned right onto Highland.
The cyclist was seriously injured and pronounced dead shortly afterward. He has been identified as Bernadino Delariva, 67.
The driver of the garbage truck was not identified, and it is unclear whether or not they were injured.
The collision remains under investigation. It is known that Delariva was riding on the sidewalk immediately before entering the intersection, and the truck driver is believed to have had a green light.
