At least three people were injured in a chain reaction collision in Joe Daviess County on Wednesday.
The collision, which involved five vehicles in total, took place on U.S. Route 20 near Tiger Whip Road. A semi truck collided with an SUV which had slowed for a construction zone.
The SUV then collided with multiple other vehicles, while the truck that had caused the accident went off the road and collided with a fence.
Several people were injured in the accident, and three suffered incapacitating injuries. They have been identified as Marion Sota, 48, Zaid Abdallah, 34, and Randy Huenefield, 43. The other injuries were said to be minor.
The driver of the semi has been identified as Wayne Pagryzinski, 66. He was uninjured, but received a citation for speeding under the road conditions at the time.
The collision remains under investigation.
