Two people were killed in a dump truck collision in Piatt County, Illinois on Monday.
The collision occurred at around 5:20 p.m. on Illinois Route 105 and Northeast County Line Road, which forms the county line with neighboring Macon County. A northbound dump truck on County Line Road reportedly ran a stop sign and collided in the intersection with the driver’s side of another dump truck headed west.
The driver of the westbound truck and a passenger in the northbound truck were both killed. They have been identified respectively as Kenneth Allen, 65, and Russell Foster, 53. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the northbound truck has not been publicly identified and it is not clear whether he suffered any injuries. The collision remains under investigation.
