Motorcyclist Dead After Collision with Truck in Aurora, IL

A 39-year-old motorcyclist from Naperville was killed in a crash with a semi truck Wednesday morning in Aurora.

About 6:30 a.m., Johnny R. Williams was riding a Suzuki southbound on Commons Drive when a semi coming from the other direction made a left turn into the post office on Gabrielle Lane. The motorcycle then hit the back wheel of the semi’s trailer, according to Aurora city spokesman Dan Ferrelli.

Ferrelli said Williams has been wearing a helmet. He was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where he later died.

The 49-year-old Aurora man driving the semi was ticketed for failure to yield while turning left.
