A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Champaign on Tuesday.
The collision occurred in the vicinity of Bradley and Willis avenues. The male pedestrian, who was crossing a street at the time, was struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian was hospitalized and pronounced dead at around 8 p.m. He has been identified as Robert Milligan, 67.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene; they have not been identified. It is unclear whether or not they were at fault, but they do not appear to have been distracted or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Their identity has not been released.
The collision, which remains under investigation, is the second incident of a pedestrian being killed at the intersection of Bradley and Willis in the past year. Some locals have expressed a desire to see the intersection be made safer.
The last pedestrian killed at the intersection was Marjorie Roberts, 76, who died in December of 2016.
