3-Year-Old Chicago Boy Seriously Injured In Halloween Hit-And-Run

A 3-year-old boy is in a critical condition following a hit-and-run accident on Monday evening in Chicago’s Clearing neighborhood.

3-year-old Patrick Zbellut was out trick-or-treating with his family on Monday night when a car plowed into the group. The boy was taken to Loyola University medical center in critical condition.

Police detectives and the boy’s family are now seeking help from the public to identify the driver who did not stop after striking the boy.

The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. in the 6500 block of West 63rd Street as the family was crossing the street in a crosswalk.

Police released a surveillance photo of the car on Tuesday and believe it may be a Toyota Corolla. Anyone with information about the driver or the car involved is asked to call the Major Accident unit at 312-745-4521.
