Pedestrian Killed in Chicago


A pedestrian was killed in the Kilbourn Park neighborhood of Chicago’s Northwest Side on Thursday night.

The crash occurred at the corner of Melrose Street and North Pulaski. The pedestrian was crossing Pulaski when he was hit by a vehicle that was attempting to turn left onto Pulaski after traveling east on Melrose Street.

The pedestrian was a 64-year-old man. He was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision, and the intersection was controlled by a stop sign. He was pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

The accident took place at 11:50 p.m. The driver of the car has been identified as a 31-year-old male. He has been ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
