One man was killed after being caught a five-vehicle crash involving a semi truck near Elmhurst on Friday.
The collision occurred at around 7:50 a.m. in southbound lanes of the Tri-State Tollway. A semi truck in the far right lane rear-ended a passenger car. This caused a chain reaction crash in which three other vehicles were hit.
An occupant of one of the vehicles was hospitalized and died of his injuries a day after the accident, on Saturday afternoon. He has been identified as Amit Ghosh, 66.
Two other people were injured, although their injuries were not life-threatening. Their names have not been released.
The collision remains under investigation. It is not clear who was at fault, and no charges or citations have been issued so far.
