Two people were killed in a collision in Lyons on Monday, with at least one other suffering severe injuries.
The collision occurred at 44th Place and First Avenue at 6:20 p.m. A vehicle was turning left onto 44th Place from southbound First Avenue when it was collided with a vehicle heading northbound on First Avenue.
Both occupants of the first vehicle were hospitalized at Loyola University Medical Center and later pronounced dead. They have been identified as William Molthop, 60, and Vincent Neri, 62.
The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries. He has been identified only as a 23-year-old male.
The collision remains under investigation, but it is believed that both vehicles had the green light at the time.
