The collision occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on Route 47 and Galena Road. The semi truck was headed south on Route 47, and apparently ran the light immediately before hitting a passenger vehicle.
The vehicle was pushed into a guardrail, and its driver was trapped inside the vehicle before being hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. He has been identified as Paul Eggert, 67.
The driver of the truck has been identified as Kenneth Stade, 56. He was uninjured, but received a citation for disobeying the traffic signal.
The collision shut down traffic on Route 47 for several hours.
