Multiple injuries and at least one death were reported in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Los Gatos on Monday.

The collision occurred at around 6:07 p.m. in the vicinity of The Cats Restaurant and Bar. A northbound Ford F-550 changed lanes and collided with the center wall, then lost control and veered into opposing lanes through a gap in the wall which allowed drivers to turn left into The Cats parking lot.

The Ford truck then collided with three other vehicles in southbound lanes, including a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, a 2007 Toyota Camry, and a 2014 Kia sedan.

The driver of the Kia was killed. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and has been identified only as a 19-year-old female from San Jose.

An unidentified 19-year-old passenger in the Kia was also injured, along with the driver of the Camry, 25, the driver of the Tacoma, 63, and the driver of the Ford, who has been identified as Armond Cobb, 44.

All but the Tacoma driver were hospitalized, and the precise nature of their injuries is not clear. The collision remains under investigation, but alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors.
