Bryan Ball Killed In Crash Into Construction Trailer

Bryan Ball

On Saturday morning, February 15th, a man died in a car crash on Huntington Beach, California. The Orange County Coroner’s Office has identified him as Bryan Ball, 38, of Newport Beach.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deceased was driving his car when he crashed into a parked trailer at Springdale Street and Little Field Drive. It happened at about 3:20 a.m.

First responders at the scene of the accident pronounced Ball dead. There is no additional information about the accident at the time of this report, but the CHP is still investigating the primary cause.

The CHP has asked anyone with information to contact its Huntington Beach office. The Huntington Beach Police are aiding the investigation and can be reached on their public line.

Car accidents are common in Huntington Beach, especially crashes resulting from DUI. It has the highest DUI accident rate in California, mostly caused by its status as a surf city.

Surf cities in California often boast of bars and drinking holes, which translate to high accident rates. To combat the problem, the local police initiated the Know Your Limit program to decrease the number of drunk driving accidents.

The program allows police officers to go into bars with breathalyzer devices to test the alcohol level of people before they get behind the wheel of their cars. People who have exceeded their limits are given vouchers for taxi companies.

The program has proven effective and has helped reduce the rate of DUI accidents in the city. California law prohibits drivers from driving once they have a BAC level of at least 0.08 percent.
