On Thursday, February 13th, the Pittsburg Police Department, confirmed the identity of the man killed in the Pittsburg DUI accident as Vincent Fisher II, 29. The latter died after getting struck down on Sunday morning.
The report presented by the California Highway Patrol showed that the accident happened at about 2 a.m. It took place on the eastbound lanes of Highway 4, east of Bailey Road.
The accident involved a Volkswagen sedan, a Toyota sedan, and a 2016 Harley-Davidson. The first car driven by Tony Moss, 59, of Antioch, caused the collision that led Fisher to his death.
The older man was driving on the wrong lane when he crashed into the Toyota, driven by an unnamed 20-year-old. The collision between the cars hit the deceased, who was driving the Harley.
The 20-year-old man suffered minor injuries, while Moss, who got severely injured, was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. He is undergoing treatment, and his prognosis remains unknown.
While the Antioch resident is recuperating, the police booked him in the county jail on suspicion of DUI. The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information should contact the police or the CHP Contra Costa area.
Under California DUI laws, the court will look at an offender’s record to determine if he or she is a first-time or repeat offender. Either of the two will determine the severity of the punishment.
DUI with injury or death bags 16 months to 16 years in state prison. The offender will also make restitution and his or her driver’s license will be suspended.
