The Marin County Sheriff’s Office, near San Rafael, California, has revealed the identity of the woman who died in a single-vehicle car crash. They identified her as 83-year-old Norma Jean Nixon.

The deceased died on the evening of Sunday, February 23rd, at about 5:30 p.m. According to the sheriff’s office, she was driving down the long-paved driveway of her home in the 300-block of Locust Avenue.

Nixon lost control of the car and wrecked it against a residential structure. She was the only occupant of the vehicle, and by the time first responders arrived, she was no longer responsive.

The paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, and her body got moved to the coroner’s office. On Tuesday, February 25th, the coroner will perform a post-mortem exam and a toxicology test on Nixon.

The sheriff’s office is still investigating and has expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased. They will update the public once they have more information on the crash.
