The police department and the entire residents of Soledad, 71 miles from San Jose, California, are mourning the loss of one of their officers, Kevin McArthur. The community through its manager, Michael McHatten, announced the passing of the dead policeman on Tuesday evening, February 25th.

McHatten, while making the announcement, extended his condolences and prayers to McArthur’s family and friends during what he called a painful and challenging time. He added that the tight-knit community would rally around the grieving family, and offer their support.

The entire police force also got commended for their sense of duty and dedication in keeping the community safe. McArthur was an integral part of it.

The deceased was involved in a traffic accident over the weekend. The details of the accident have not been released by the police, but the policeman died from the wounds he sustained from the crash.

The police and the community authorities have also not revealed the location of the accident or the number of people involved. No arrest has been made at the time of this report, but investigations are still ongoing.

The SPD is receiving letters from people who wish to express their condolence to the McArthur’s family. The letters are being dropped off at the 236 Main Street station.

Traffic accidents are common in California, claiming lives daily. There are several causes of road crashes ranging from the negligence of drivers to pedestrians, not exercising due care when on the road.

State authorities have asked road users to look after each other’s welfare to prevent accidents. Residents should obey traffic laws, and only get on the road when they are not impaired in any way.
