Jordan Vargas Confirmed Dead in Saugus Motorcycle-Vs-Vehicle Accident


The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s office is investigating a motorcycle crash that occurred at past 6 p.m. on Friday, 28 February. A 25-year-old man was killed in the motorcycle-vs-vehicle collision that happened in Saugus, California.

The coroner’s office has identified Jordan Vargas, a resident of Santa Clarita, as the crash victim, and his next of kin was notified by the following morning.

According to reports, the collision happened at approximately 6:18 p.m. at the intersection of Copperhill drive and Tamarack lane near Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church.

Officers of the Los Angeles County fire department who responded to the accident found a motorcyclist down on the roadway.

Lt. Ethan Marquez of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station reported that the victim was declared dead at the scene.

No new information was made available as of Saturday afternoon, according to Lt. Richard Cartmill with the sheriff’s station.

Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of Copperhill drive at Seco Canyon road during their examination of the scene. They also blocked the westbound lanes near Gold Canyon drive.

Motorcycle accidents can be prevented by following simple safety tips, one of which is to be conscious of other road users, particularly motorists.

You are advised to wear a helmet all the time and ensure your passenger, if any, has one on too. Follow the set speed limits and do not drink and drive. Ensure the road is clear before switching lanes or pulling into intersections.
