Rancho Cucamonga City of San Bernardino County, California, recorded a grave traffic incident on Sunday morning, following a two-vehicle crash that left one woman dead and three injured at the intersection of Etiwanda Avenue and Valley Boulevard. The accident happened on March 1, just before 11:15 am.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene shortly after the fatal wreck was reported and found the elderly woman alive and brutally injured, along with three other victims. However, the woman succumbed to her injuries shortly after she was hospitalized.
Authorities have identified the 75-year-old lady as Mary Ann Price, a Fontana resident.
The deceased rode as a passenger in a 2003 Toyota heading West on Valley Boulevard. Meanwhile, another vehicle, a 2017 Ford northbound on Etiwanda Avenue, suddenly jumped the stop signal of a traffic light and collided with the Toyota, which was driving through the green light at the intersection.
The passenger in the Toyota was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, where she died amid intensive treatments.
Three other victims were hurt in the crash, including the two occupants of the Ford, and the driver of the deceased’s vehicle. While the operator of the Toyota and the passenger in the other car were transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment, the offending driver sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The names of the three injured commuters, as well as their medical conditions since hospitalization were left undisclosed. Further investigations into the ghastly accident are ongoing.
