A Randolph man faces multiple criminal charges after a police chase ended in a multi-vehicle wreck Thursday in Weymouth.
Dylan Costello, 24, was arrested on charges of negligent operation of a vehicle, failure to stop for police, speeding, leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, concealing a license plate number, speeding, operating a motor vehicle without authority and two counts of reckless endangerment of a child.
Costello also was wanted on 10 warrants alleging previous motor vehicle violations, according to police.
Police reported seeing Costello driving erratically at a high speed on Pleasant Street just before noon Thursday. The officer attempted to pull Costello over, but Costello kept driving, speeding through multiple red lights.
Costello made his way toward Bridge Street and the Fore River Bridge, according to authorities. He ultimately lost control of his car, crossed into another lane and struck multiple vehicles in the area.
Police said Costello’s father and two girls, one 4 years old and the other 17, were in the vehicle with him at the time of the wreck. No one reported injuries as a result of the crash.
The 17-year-old girl, who was not identified publicly by authorities, allegedly attempted to deceive police by switching seats in the vehicle. She faces a charge of misleading an officer’s inquiry.
