– Authorities this week identified the woman killed in a rollover wreck Sunday night on U.S. 5 near Tumwater.
Theresa N. Weeks, 30, of Olympia, died Sunday night from injuries sustained in the wreck, according to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office. No other injuries have been reported by authorities.
The Washington State Patrol said Weeks was driving sough on U.S. 5 when she took the Trosper Road exit. She lost control of her vehicle, causing it to roll and then strike a tree, state troopers reported.
The southbound ramp was closed for about an hour Sunday as investigators worked at the scene. Weeks was pronounced dead at about 10 p.m., according to authorities.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident. It wasn’t immediately clear what led Weeks to crash her vehicle.
Tumwater is located just south of Olympia, capital of the State of Washington. The stretch of U.S. 5 south between Tumwater and Grand Mound has been the scene of at least one other fatal collision within the last month.
Prani Sisopha, 43, of Olympia, and Travis C. Schuettke, 34, of Tumwater, were killed Feb. 13 when the vehicle Sisopha was driving crashed into the rear of a semi-tractor trailer. Both were pronounced dead at the scene and traffic was suspended for several hours while investigators worked at the scene.
