The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision that took place two weeks ago on 7th Standard Road, claiming the life of a male motorist in the Wasco area of Kern County, California. Details of the investigative findings were made public on Wednesday, March 18.
The fatal collision between the three automobiles happened on Tuesday, March 3. The CHP reported that a traffic accident in Wasco Avenue involving a semi-tractor trailer, a Mercedes Sedan, and a welding truck was called in just after 7:30 pm.
Officers of the CHP Kern County Unit responded to the tragedy shortly after it occurred, and set out to investigate the crash. It was determined that the deceased motorist was travelling through the westbound lanes on 7th Standard Road as the sole occupant of a Sedan with a two-occupant welding truck following close behind.
Meanwhile, an eastbound Semi, conveying a driver and one passenger, was approaching the two westbound vehicles. The Mercedes suddenly veered into the east traffic lane and collided with the big rig.
The impact forced the car back into the west lane, where it collided a second time, with the westbound utility vehicle. The Sedan driver did not survive the dual collision.
The deceased was identified as Donald Alan Page, 55, of Bakersfield. No other casualty was reported.
The crash shut down the roadway for hours until on-site investigations were completed. Further investigation into the accident is currently conducted by police officials.
