Troopers: Charles Scott Killed In Rollover Randolph Crash

Authorities have identified the man killed in a rollover crash Friday morning in Randolph.

Charles Scott, 23, of Stoughton, died from injuries sustained in the single-vehicle wreck, the Massachusetts State Police said Saturday. No other injuries were reported in connection to the incident.

Authorities said Scott was driving south on Massachusetts 24 near a Randolph exit at about 10:15 a.m. Friday when, “for reasons that are still under investigation,” the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway. Scott’s sedan struck a guardrail and was launched into the air.

The vehicle rolled as it landed and Scott was ejected, according to state police.

“Medical treatment was given at the scene and the operator was transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased,” troopers said in a press release.

Scott was the vehicle’s sole occupant, according to a press release. Troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt and “speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.”

Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police, the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services section are continuing the investigation. Authorities have not disclosed whether other factors might have contributed to the incident.
