The name of the motorist who was killed last week Monday in a suspected DUI crash has been released as Dennis Van Nguyen, 64, on Tuesday, April 2. The incident, which has since been tabled before the District Attorney’s Office, and possibly under the jurisdiction of a drunk driving attorney, took place in the coastal city of Long Beach, California.
Police records suggest that the two-vehicle collision occurred on Monday, March 23, in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Anaheim Street.
As reported, the fatal victim was driving a car along the roadway when another vehicle, driving through the same route collided with him at the highway ramp.
Dennis Van Nguyen suffered fatal injuries as a result and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.
Patrol officers determined that the operator of the offending vehicle was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The motorist, identified as 38-year-old David Michael Garrison of Bellflower, was taken into police custody.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the culprit is faced with multiple counts of felony and misdemeanor, which may attract between 15 years to life imprisonment.
His court hearing was slated for Thursday, April 2, at the Dept. S1, Long Beach Courthouse in Magnolia Avenue.
Garrison, who was previously convicted for DUI in 2011, was booked into a county jail pending payment of $2 million bail.
When faced with a case involving drunk driving, it is crucial that the involved parties consult a drunk driving attorney to ensure the best possible outcome.
