The man who died following an eleven-day battle with severe injuries sustained in a car crash in Long Beach, California, has been identified. Updated accident reports from the Long Beach Police Department, on Wednesday, April 8, disclosed the man’s name as Bryan Bogan, 61, of Long Beach.
The traffic wreck took place on Tuesday, March 24, in the area of Del Amo Boulevard, near Locust Avenue, leaving behind two casualties.
The reports stated that Bogan and another man were standing between a Honda Accord and a Mercedes Benz E-320 on the westbound lanes of Del Amo Boulevard when a Dodge Caravan struck the Honda from behind.
Resulting from the impact, the struck vehicle pushed forward and sideswiped another car before knocking down the two men, causing serious injuries to both.
First responders transported the injured victims to a local hospital to commence treatment. Bryan Bogan sadly succumbed to his wounds on Saturday, April 4, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Meanwhile, the operator of the Caravan, 50-year-old Charlette Colton of Lakewood, fled from the crash site but was later apprehended by the police.
Authorities believe Colton was intoxicated at the time of the crash. She has since been taken into custody pending settlement of a $160,000 bail term.
Colton was charged with felony hit-and-run and felony DUI. However, her charges are expected to be reviewed following the death of Bogan.
The additional charges would be specified in the accident reports once effected, and an update on the case made available.
