Teenager Killed in Solo-Motorcycle Crash in Lake Berryessa Identified as Jonathan Cody Armstrong

The cyclist who was killed after his motorcycle overturned on Highway 128, in the Lake Berryessa area in Napa County, California has been identified. Authorities on Monday, April 13, disclosed the decedent’s identity as Jonathan Cody Armstrong, an 18-year-old male from Woodland, as stated in the updated accident reports.

The incident took place on Sunday, April 12, east of Canyon Road. Witnesses called in the ghastly motorcycle crash at about 4:55 pm, and troopers were immediately dispatched to the location.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the teenage cyclist was riding along the state Highway 128, accompanied by a group of friends.

Just as he rounded a curve, located near the southern tip of Lake Berryessa, the motorcycle suddenly slipped, and overturned, before coming to rest against a guard rail.

The 18-year-old suffered fatal injuries in the traffic wreck and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics accompanying the California Highway Patrol.

Following the crash, the CHP closed down all the lanes of Highway 128 within a mile of the accident scene, until the necessary on-site investigations were carried out.

The lanes were reopened at about 6:30 pm on the same day. Officers did not suspect Armstrong of being under the influence at the time of the fatal accident.

The CHP is still investigating to determine the cause of the accident. Further findings would be made available once included in the accident reports.
