Alexander Huerta Charged With DUI Following Visalia Two-Vehicle Accident

A crash which took place last week left at least two people injured after an alleged DUI motorist crashed into another vehicle in Visalia, California. The suspect was taken into police custody following the accident on Saturday, April 18, and may require a drunk driving attorney to represent him in court.

Authorities reported that the tragic wreck took place just before midnight at the intersection of Dinuba Boulevard and Robin Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene of the crash following reports of a head-on collision between two vehicles. Responding officers found two wrecked cars and three injured victims.

Investigators determined that the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Alexander Huerta, was northbound on Dinuba Boulevard in a Volkswagen Jetta.

At the same time, a Chevrolet Suburban was also traveling through the south traffic lanes on the roadway. Just as the Chevrolet attempted a left turn at the interchange, it collided head-on with the Jetta at about 11:40 pm.

The two occupants of the Chevrolet suffered significant injuries and were transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center by paramedics for treatment.

The operator of the SUV sustained only minor injuries, which were tended at the crash site by medics.

Deputies determined that Huerta was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The drunk driver, who reportedly suffered no injury in the accident, was arrested on charges of DUI.

Officers are still investigating the almost fatal collision.

Anyone involved in a DUI crash is advised to get in touch with an experienced drunk driving attorney who could follow up the investigations and see to it that the case is adequately reviewed.
