The woman who died earlier this week after a vehicle she was riding in tragically collided with another in the Oakland area of California has been identified. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office, on Tuesday, April 28, named the victim, whose family may likely involve a car accident lawyer, as 29-year-old Waynette Hunter.
The incident took place on Sunday, April 26. Police reported that the two vehicles collided at about 3:36 am, at the intersection of 98th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard, leaving one person dead and two injured.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was a passenger in a Honda Civic driven by a 25-year-old female from Oakland, traveling through the east traffic lanes of MacArthur Boulevard.
At the same time, another vehicle, a Nissan Quest minivan, was westbound on the same route. Just as the minivan negotiated a turn onto 98th Avenue at the road intersection to head south, the eastbound Honda crashed into it.
Waynette Hunter, who was the sole passenger in the Honda, died from fatal injuries sustained in the collision.
Following the two-vehicle wreck, the operator of the Honda transported herself to a hospital where she was listed in critical, but stable condition.
Meanwhile, the driver, and sole occupant of the Nissan, a 20-year-old male from Oakland, was also injured in the accident and was taken to the hospital by paramedics. He was also listed in stable condition.
The crash is still being investigated by the police. Eyewitnesses with useful information that could facilitate the investigative process were asked to contact police traffic investigators.
Victims of car accidents can get in touch with a car accident lawyer for representation.
