A drunk driving attorney would be required after a teenager suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol crashed his vehicle into a tree in Penn Valley, California. Joshua Patton was taken into police custody following the crash on Sunday night, May 3rd, that left at least two people injured.
Officers were dispatched to the scene of the accident at about 7:15 p.m., following reports of a vehicle that crashed off Indian Springs Road, near Majestic View Court. According to the California Highway Patrol, the suspect was traveling through the eastbound lanes on Indian Springs in a Nissan 350, conveying two other occupants.
While in transit, the motorist approached a bend in the road, which he failed to negotiate, causing the speeding vehicle to veer off the roadway and collide with a tree. The two passengers in the car at the time, a male and a female, both eighteen, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the wreck.
Emergency responders transported the two teenagers to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment. Officers determined that the suspect, later identified as Joshua Patton, 19, of Grass Valley, was heavily intoxicated while behind the wheels, which made him fail to negotiate the curve.
The police detained Patton on suspicion of driving under the influence, causing bodily injury. He is being held in a county jail in lieu of $95,000 bond. Anyone involved in a DUI accident is advised to seek legal counsel from a drunk driving attorney as soon as possible.
