A drunk driving attorney may be needed after a 70-year-old man identified as Calvin Green died after a DUI crash in San Jose, California. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office revealed the deceased’s identity on Tuesday, May 5.

The fatal crash occurred on Sunday, May 3, at about 12:13 a.m. in the area of Almaden Expressway and Branham Lane. Police investigations revealed that Green was driving a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon and heading west on Branham Lane. Another unidentified driver was also driving a 2006 Nissan Murano, and heading north on Almaden Expressway.

The Nissan driver ran a red light at the intersection and collided with Green’s vehicle. The impact of the collision caused the Hyundai Tiburon to also slam into a 2019 Tesla that stopped at the intersection.

Eyewitnesses made calls to Emergency responders, and paramedics soon arrived at the scene of the accident. Green was accessed, after which the medics pronounced him dead at the crash scene. The driver of the Tesla didn’t sustain any injuries from the crash. However, the Nissan driver, a 32-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Following further investigation by the police, they discovered that the driver of the Nissan was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the collision happened. He was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Jail and faces charges bordering on vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

The services of a drunk driving attorney are necessary when one is involved in accidents of this nature.
