Motorcyclist, John Godoy, Killed in Tragic Traffic Wreck in Norwalk

Recent accident reports obtained from the California Highway Patrol confirmed the death of a man who met his end after his motorcycle crashed into an overturned car in Norwalk, California. The incident took place on Wednesday, May 13 and left two motorists injured.

Officers recorded the crash at about 5 a.m., in 605 Freeway, just north of Alondra Boulevard. The CHP said the motorcyclist, John Godoy, 62, crashed into a vehicle disabled in an earlier two-vehicle collision at the location.

The ghastly occurrence kicked off when a Lexus sport-utility car and a Toyota Prius plying the northbound 605 Freeway collided. The impact caused the Toyota to veer sideways and crash into a raised median, before drifting into the carpool lane where it capsized, coming to rest on its side. The SUV also drifted into the carpool lane and halted a few feet from the Toyota.

Minutes after the crash, Gordoy’s motorcycle approached the scene and smashed into the overturned vehicle. The Toyota slid as a result and struck the SUV driver who was at the time standing outside the overturned car, attempting to rescue its trapped motorist from the wreckage.

The SUV driver suffered moderate injuries in the motorcycle-versus-car collision. Emergency responders transported the injured driver to a hospital for treatment. They also hospitalised the Toyota driver on complaints of pain.

Meanwhile, the Santa Ana motorcyclist died at the scene from fatal injuries sustained in the crash, the accident reports confirmed.
