Motorist Killed in Sylmar Two-Vehicle Collision Identified as Alejandro Madrid

The identification of a motorist who ended up dead last week in a traffic collision involving two vehicles in Sylmar, California calls for the intervention of auto accident attorneys. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, on Sunday, May 17, named the deceased man as Alejandro Madrid, a 39-year-old resident of Pasadena.

The incident kicked off at about 10:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. The California Highway Patrol said it involved a car and a semi-truck which collided on Foothill (210) Freeway, near the Polk Street exit.

Responding officers discovered a trail of debris dislodged from the vehicles scattered on the freeway, with one of the cars aflame.

Investigators determined that the fatal victim was driving a 2012 Cadillac eastbound on the freeway when his vehicle collided with the semi. The impact of the collision caused the Cadillac to burst into flames.

First responders pronounced Madrid dead at the scene, from fatal injuries sustained. Police did not disclose the identity of the other motorist involved in the collision.

Detectives did not immediately establish whether drugs and alcohol contributed to the tragic collision. The cause and liability of the incident are still under investigation by the CHP.

Following the crash, officers shut down all eastbound lanes on Foothill Freeway pending the completion of the necessary on-site investigation and clearing out of the wreckage.

In such situations, it is essential to call upon experienced auto accident attorneys who could conduct an independent probe into the case. The legal representative may also ascertain whether the victim has sufficient claims to pursue a wrongful death claim.
