Denisa Burt Arrested For Intoxicated Driving After Crashing Into Pole In Arlington

Authorities said a woman was intoxicated and using her phone last week when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a utility pole in Arlington.

Denisa Burt, 22, of Arlington, was arrested on multiple charges in connection to the crash last week, Arlington Police Department officials recently reported. No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, authorities said.

It still is unclear whether Burt has hired a drunk driving attorney to represent her during upcoming court proceedings.

Police said Burt was driving south on Mystic Street at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when she lost control of her vehicle. The car drifted out of its lane and struck a utility pole, causing it to spin out, according to authorities.

Burt was able to extricate herself from the vehicle, which reportedly had sustained heavy damage. She allegedly told authorities that she was alone in the vehicle at the time of the wreck and that she had been texting her friends.

Burt ultimately was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, sending or receiving an electronic message while driving and a marked lanes violation. Online records don’t list any upcoming court dates, nor do they state whether Burt has retained the services of a drunk driving attorney.

The incident remains under investigation by the Arlington Police Department. No other additional details were immediately available.
