The services of a car accident lawyer would come in handy following the death of a motorist who veered into the path of an oncoming car in Dryden, Washington. The incident, which left a passenger hospitalised with injuries occurred on Wednesday, May 20.
Washington State Patrol officers responded to the crash at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, in the west lanes of travel on the Big Y interchange. Officers recorded two casualties on Wednesday resulting from the incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed one of the vehicles involved was a Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by Charles Lemons, 81, of Leavenworth. The Cruiser was traveling westbound on an overpass at the interchange of Highway 2/97. For unknown reasons, Lemon’s vehicle crossed the centre divider into eastbound lanes, and onto the path of an oncoming GMC Sierra. The two cars collided as a result.
The motorist suffered fatal injuries and medics pronounced him dead at the scene. A female passenger in the vehicle with him, identified as Kathrine Lemons, 79, also sustained major injuries. First responders transported her to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee for treatment. No update on her condition is available at this time.
Meanwhile, the two occupants of the GM, Arlen Simon, 67, and Aaron Simon, 44, went unscathed.
Detectives are yet to determine what caused Charles Lemons to veer into oncoming traffic. An investigation is ongoing.
