24-year-old Christian Jesus Moreno would need a drunk driving attorney’s services following his detainment by the police on Wednesday, July 15th. The suspect was involved in a car crash in the Napa area of California.
According to the Napa Police accident report, the man began the chain of events that led to a collision in the area of Main Street and Yount Street. Moreno was northbound on Main in a Mustang when he went off the roadway and slammed into a parked vehicle.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene at about 10:15 p.m., they found one person trapped in the parked car. They successfully extricated the victim, and medics took the person to Queen of the Valley Medical Center to treat undisclosed injuries.
The police determined that Moreno was under the influence of an intoxicant and placed him under arrest. They booked him into the Napa County Jail, and jail records show that they are holding him on possible possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation. There is no additional information, and the investigation is ongoing.
Driving under the influence of drugs or (and) alcohol is a criminal offense in California, and prosecutors try it either as a misdemeanor or a felony. An offender will only get convicted if the prosecutors prove that he operated a motor vehicle while impaired, and committed an illegal or failed to commit a legal act.
The court would also consider that the commission of the act or the lack thereof led to another person’s harm. Possible punishments include imprisonment, fines, and driving privileges revocation.
