Louie Villa and Ricardo Navarro Identified as Racers Involved in Santa Ana Collision

The drivers involved in an illegal street race that ended in a traffic accident in Santa Ana, California, have been identified, and they would need a top accident lawyer’s service. The Santa Ana Police Department on Thursday, July 30th, revealed their names as Louie Robert Villa, 29, and Ricardo Navarro, 24.

The police said that the two Santa Ana residents were racing at top speed northbound on Bristol at about 11:45 p.m. Villa drove a silver BMW that struck a Ford Ranger driven by a 67-year-old man Eugene Harbrecht. The man was making a left turn on Santa Clara Avenue when the suspect’s speeding car crashed into him.

The impact pushed the Ranger about 60 feet into a fence, and it caught fire. Residents in the area pulled the victim out of his wrecked car, and a police officer extinguished the fire. Responding paramedics rushed Harbrecht to UC Irvine Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Villa sustained severe wounds, and medics conveyed him to a hospital, but not before the police determined that he was under the influence when the crash happened. Navarro fled the scene in his car after the collision, and officers located him at a post office off First Street near Pacific Avenue.

The police later arrested Villa on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. They booked Navarro into the Santa Ana Jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, and there’s no information of his bail bond. The investigation into the occurrence remains active.
