Brant Savage Arrested for DUI Crash Involving Three Children in Oakland

On Tuesday night, August 4th, police in Oakdale, California, arrested Brant Savage, 26, for driving under the influence and crashing his car in the city. The suspect would need the expertise of a drunk driving attorney.

The accident report released by the police disclosed that the man traveled with four passengers, including three children in the 700-block of N. Yosemite Avenue. Savage reportedly lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road; he struck a fence and rolled into a yard.

The passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and medics conveyed them to a hospital for treatment. Officers determined that Savage drove while impaired and arrested him on charges of DUI, child endangerment, and driving with a suspended license.

In California, a person is liable to answer for an offense of DUI if he or she while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance operates a motor vehicle.  It means that the person is 21-year-old and above, and had a blood alcohol concentration of .08%.

If it’s a commercial driver or an operator of a school bus, the person must have below .04%, and young people below the age of 21, must have below .01% BAC. A person who disobeys this law is liable to face criminal prosecution and upon conviction, severe punishment.

The person would face imprisonment, pay a fine, have his or her driving privileges revoked, and attend compulsory alcohol reeducation program. If there’s bodily harm or death, then the person would face more severe punishments, including a lengthier time in jail.
