The police in Paradise, California, arrested a man who nearly collided with patrol vehicles in the city for DUI. Jose Sandoval, 35, of Magalia, was arrested on Thursday, August 6th, on several felonies, and he would need a drunk driving attorney’s service.
According to the PPD, at about 9:30 a.m., they received a report about a pick-up truck speeding and swerving on the Skyway. Officers tried to stop the truck, but Sandoval started driving erratically to evade the officers.
At one point, the man drove into oncoming traffic, forcing the lawmen to pull over to avoid a collision. The suspect kept driving and went on for about a mile before stopping. During the investigation, the police said that Sandoval endangered several lives while trying to run away.
Also, the truck the man operated has a fake Texas license plate covering a real California one. A search of Sandoval’s car uncovered that he bore a mace, a weapon he should not have in his possession because of prior felony convictions. They conducted a field sobriety test on the suspect and determined that he was under the influence.
The police arrested the man and booked him into the Butte County Jail for felony evading with disregard for the safety of others. He is also facing charges of felony displaying forged or altered vehicle registration, possession of a dangerous weapon by a convicted felon, and driving under the influence of drugs. There is no additional information.
