The accident reports suggested that the suspect was driving his vehicle through the intersection of Knox Road and Tozer Street. Under unclear circumstances, Perez slammed his vehicle into another, causing severe damages to both cars.

When responding officers arrived at about 6:50a.m., they found the second driver trapped inside his vehicle, critically injured. They rescued the driver from the wreck and administered life-saving measures on him to no avail. Medics pronounced the victim deceased a short time later.Meanwhile, Perez survived the wreck.

Most traffic collisions happen on road intersections and are avoidable if motorists desist from over speeding, avoid driving on the wrong lane, obey stop signs, yield the right of way to other motorists, and avoid running red lights. Drugs and alcohol are major contributors to these forms of accidents as well, leading to an increased risk of traffic fatalities. This, in turn, attracts hefty fines or significant jail time for the perpetrator.

The penalties can be averted or reduced to a minimum by hiring an experienced car accident lawyer soon after encountering the mishap.
