Motor vehicle accidents are not uncommon in California and other parts of the United States. Several factors resulting from negligence or external influences cause road crashes. They include but are not limited to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, running red lights or stop signs, and distracted driving.
Others are lane splitting, tailgating, wrong-way driving, going over the legal speed limit, disobeying exit signs, and road rage. Additionally, animal sightings, adverse road conditions, mechanical defects, an underlying medical condition, and adverse weather conditions like rain, snow, fog, cause traffic collisions.
