Coroner Reveals the Name of Winchester Rollover Crash Victim as Valentin Godina

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the man killed in a rollover crash in Winchester, California, as Valentin Godina, 53. The coroner made the identification public on Sunday, September 6th.

The collision, which occurred east of Menifee, involved a white SUV and a black pickup truck. The California Highway Patrol said that the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. at Winchester Road and Abella Street on Saturday, September 5th.

Witnesses told the investigators that the collision caused the SUV to overturn and go off the roadway. Godina died at the scene, and medics pronounced him. The car accident report did not state which of the two vehicles the man was driving but disclosed that three other people suffered minor injuries.

Motor vehicle accidents or traffic collisions happen when a car collides with another, a person, an object, a tree, a signpost, debris, or a fence. Factors leading to crashes can be mitigated if drivers follow safety tips and obey the rules of the road they are traveling on.

When at an intersection, count to three before entering on a green light, and look both ways to ensure no one is trying to beat a yellow light. When passing semi’s, be careful of the blindspot on the right-hand side, and keep at least one hand on the steering wheel.

Reduce in-car distractions like changing radio stations or CDs, cell phones, or eating momentarily. Watch out for children and animals, especially in a residential neighborhood, and perform engine maintenance regularly.
