This weekend, Mayor Villaraigosa was injured while riding a bicycle on a street in Los Angeles. In the bicycle accident, the mayor sustained a broken elbow.

The Los Angeles mayor’s bicycle accident took place on Saturday during the early evening, at around 7:00 pm. Mayor Villaraigosa was riding his bicycle in the bicycle lane, when suddenly, a taxi pulled into the lane in front of him.

Mayor Villaraigosa subsequently hit the brakes of his bicycle, but did not actually hit the taxi. He fell from the bike onto the ground, sustaining the broken elbow.

Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa received treatment for his broken elbow at the UCLA Medical Hospital. The treatment he received involved a minor surgery for his broken elbow. He was later released and is back at work, according to reports.
