Teenager Suffers Head Injury in ATV Accident


A teenager who was involved in an accident with another ATV is now reported to have suffered a serious head injury, which occurred as a result of the accident yesterday. The teenager riding the ATV collided with another while on the Rincon Indian Reservation in Valley Center near Omish Road, at approximately 2:20 pm.

Though the accident occurred on private property behind the Rincon fire station, authorities say that riders were not wearing helmets. The 16-year-old rider was flown to Rady Children’s hospital, where the teenager is receiving treatment for his head injury. The other rider involved in the accident was escorted to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, authorities said.
