Allen Brookman, Jlynne Stothers Survive Car Wreck That Killed Three Others in Oroville

A motorist is set to face multiple DUI-related charges following a solo car crash in Oroville, California, that claimed three lives and caused injury to two. The alleged drunk driver would need to involve a car accident lawyer to assess the incident, which occurred on Sunday evening, April 12.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the tragic crash was called in at about 7 pm, in the area of Grand Avenue.

As reported, the motorist, identified as Allen Brookman, 27, of Sacramento, was traveling west on Grand Avenue in a 2004 GMC Sierra.

Brookman was reportedly driving at a high speed when he got to the end of the road, marked by a concrete barrier. Police said the motorist was unable to apply the brakes on time due to the speed, causing the vehicle to crash through the fence.

The Sierra then struck an embankment on its path, before becoming airborne, and coming to rest in the Thermalito Dam Canal.

Brookman and his front passenger, Jlynne Stothers, 23, escaped the crash with serious injuries, while the three occupants in the backseat, including a 32-year-old man, a one-year-old toddler, and a seven-months-old child, died in the traffic wreck.

The injured victims were transported to medical facilities for treatment.

Although Brookman remains in critical condition at the Oroville Hospital, he could face charges of felony child endangerment, and felony DUI once discharged.

The case against Brookman could be reviewed if taken up by a car accident lawyer.
