Authorities Identify Driver Killed in Tulare County Collision as Philip Turner

A fatal two-truck accident last week in the Visalia area of Tulare County, California, claimed the life of one person, who has now been identified by authorities. The California Highway Patrol, in the accident reports released on Sunday, April 19, named the fatal victim as Philip Turner, 58.

The fatal occurrence took place on Friday morning, April 17, at the intersection of Avenue 264 and Road 164. The reports confirmed that deputies were deployed to the location just after 11:12 am, shortly after the fatality was called in.

Investigators determined that one of the trucks, driven by Turner, attempted to cross the intersection when it was struck on the side by another truck, also traveling through the intersection.

The impact of the t-bone collision fatally injured the driver of the first truck, who was eventually pronounced dead by emergency responders.

The operator of the second truck sustained moderate non-life-threatening injuries in the wreck and was transported to an area hospital by paramedics.

Investigating officers do not believe drugs and alcohol were contributing factors in the two-vehicle collision.

It was not immediately established which of the drivers had the right of way at the time of the crash, and therefore, the liability remains unclear.

Officers are still investigating the case to determine the cause and liability of the fatal wreck.

Auto accidents along highways are often caused by factors such as impairment, distracted driving, hazards on significant roads, impatience, and faulty vehicles.

The conclusion from the investigation would be included in the accident reports.
