The services of a car accident lawyer would be useful following a two-vehicle crash that claimed one person’s life, leaving several others injured in Bakersfield, California. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, May 13, named the deceased as 58-year-old Jarnail Singh.
The tragic occurrence, which also left two motorists, including Terry Taylor, 54, injured, happened on Tuesday, May 12. According to the California Highway, the two vehicles collided in the area of South Avenue and Curnow Road.
Preliminary reports showed that Taylor was traveling through the southbound lanes on South Union Avenue, as the driver of a Nissan Titan. The motorist was maintaining a speed of 55 mph as he drove through the roadway, towards its intersection with Curnow.
Another vehicle, a Nissan Sentra westbound on Curnow Road, halted at the Union crossing to observe the stop signal on the traffic light. The car then entered the intersection to continue through the westbound lanes. However, the Sentra collided with the Titan, which was also crossing the intersection at the time.
The occupants of the Titan sustained minor injuries and paramedics treated them at the scene. They all declined transportation to a health facility.
Three occupants in the Sentra including the driver, Gurmit Singh Rai, 71, suffered minor to major injuries. First responders declared Jarnail dead at the scene and transported the other two victims to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
Following the crash, authorities shut down all southbound lanes on Union Avenue for hours. The incident remains under investigation.
