Victor Gonzalez Identified as Victim of Bakersfield Crash

Lasean Jackson

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, May 5, identified a 52-year-old man, Victor Gonzalez, as the man who died after an alleged DUI crash in Bakersfield, California. Details of the accident revealed that the services of a drunk driving attorney are necessary.

The two-vehicle crash occurred early last month on Monday, April 6. Reports state that Gonzalez was driving a Toyota car and heading west on Panama Lane, while an Audi vehicle was also traveling in the same direction. A 25-year-old man, Fashawn Pearson, was the driver of the Audi.

While driving, Pearson suddenly hit the Toyota from behind, causing it to go off the road and slam into a telephone pole. The Toyota also rolled over before going up in flames. According to the police officers, this happened at about 3:46 a.m. in the 3300-block of East Panama Lane.

Responding officers and paramedics soon arrived, after which they pronounced Gonzales dead at the scene of the accident. Pearson was also examined after which authorities discovered that he had a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent — which is more than twice the lawful limit — when the accident happened.

Police arrested Pearson and charged him for driving under the influence resulting in the death of another, and vehicular manslaughter. He would need a drunk driving attorney in his case.

Meanwhile, investigations into the crash remain ongoing. The police have also asked anyone with valuable information about the collision to contact the Bakersfield Police using the listed line.
