A multi-vehicle crash which claimed an eleven-year-old girl’s life over the weekend in Selma, California calls for the expertise of auto accident attorneys. Authorities on Tuesday, May 12, disclosed the fatal victim’s identity as Brianna Sanchez, a resident of Delhi.
In an initial report, the California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred near Mountain View Avenue, at about 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, May 10.
The incident began when a semi tractor-trailer driven by Deudiel Ramirez, 60, of Dinuba was traveling through northbound Highway 99. Police said the driver failed to reduce his speed on approaching a traffic jam, causing him to crash into no fewer than five vehicles in front of him.
Sanchez was traveling as a passenger in one of the struck vehicles, a 2004 Lincoln Navigator. She died soon after the tragic encounter. The driver of the Navigator, 17-year-old Alejandro Sanchez, and four other passengers all suffered moderate to major injuries, and medics rushed them to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
A 2017 GMC van, driven by Jose Cardenas, 61, was also involved in the crash. It’s driver suffered minor injuries and accepted transportation to a hospital. Two people in a 2020 Infiniti QX60, including Katina Hulse, 47, and her passenger, Lisa Jones sustained moderate injuries.
A fifth vehicle, a 1990 Toyota pickup, driven by Guillermo Sotelo Jr. contained three passengers, including two minors aged 4 and 2. All four occupants received treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
